GENERAL SUMMARY:
The security supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and security environment throughout the buildings and grounds of Lutheran Hospital. He/she is alert, observant, service-minded, team-oriented, courteous and proactive. The security supervisor provides assistance and protection to patients, visitors and staff. He/she oversees the day-to-day operations of the shift and personnel to which he/she is assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Read, write and speak the English language fluently.
· Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
· Must have the ability to work independently
· Strong customer service and team orientation skills
· Establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the day
· Work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
· Ability to assuredly perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet multiple demands
· Construct alternative positive problem resolutions
· Maintain flexibility in day-to-day actions and duties
· Operate two-way radio and surveillance equipment.
· Familiarity with Windows computing environment preferred.
Required Length and Type of Experience:
· Minimum five (5) years experience in a security-related field.
· Minimum one (1) year experience as a supervisor, training officer, or other position of leadership.
· Healthcare or hospital experience preferred.
Required Registry, Certification, or Licensure:
· OPOTA (Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy) certificate required.
· Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license, a good driving record, and maintain eligibility of insurability to operate Lutheran Hospital's vehicles.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands:
· Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and/or lifting.
· Dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions.
· Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Typical physical demands require full body movement, physical strength and stamina sufficient to chase, apprehend,and detain person(s) when required.
· Must be physically capable of performing physical tasks expected of a security supervisor, including but not limited to carrying standard equipment and conducting security patrols.
